Contemporary Inspiration

My contemporary inspiration is....

Geordie Shore's 'Queen V' Vicky!

As some may know, this clips is the official trailer premier of the new series of Geordie Shore, series 9. Although there's a slight twist to this series. This series sees Vicky being placed in the new role as 'leader' of the household. Vicky's been known as 'Queen V' for a while now but the advert for series 9 pushes this title even further.

The theme for this advert is royalty, aiming towards the Elizabethan era. You can tell this because of the costumes & hair stylings that are used but are put into a contemporary mannor. The first clip posted shows all the cast members with a variety of different takes on the Elizabethan era. One or two of the girls are wearing corsets to tuck in their waist, just like what the Elizabethans did to make them more appealing for men.

My second image of Vicky shows a modern take on the Elizabethan classic. Her makeup doesn't at all resemble 'Elizabethan-ness' but her hair is very historical to a certain point! You can see that there would have been some sort of padding placed in the hair to create this look or possibly a wig. She has curls in her hair & it's of an extreme volume. I love how they've changed a classic look by adding a small modern crown. Very royal!
